⚠️ If your organization already has a business agreement with 8AM “right now” helpdesk support, a unique company code, routine business reviews/reports, IT point of contact, and business class cybersecurity… please ignore this message. THANK YOU! ⚠️

Greetings Business Clients,

Your organization has been identified as a business on a home support and security experience. As you may be aware, there is a growing concern of cybersecurity for all business owners. This is a courtesy email to help inform your company of potential risks, options to remedy those risks, and what it means to accept the risks as-is. Regardless of your decision, your partnership and complete satsifaction are VERY IMPORTANT TO US! ❤️

Based on industry standards, there are several key protections and services not currently in place at your organization.

What does this mean? Before we dive into options… we want to share a secret with you. The secret is that we know that you LOVE to work on IT, talk about cybersecurity, and to spend time on maintaining the policies needed to protect your organization from cyberthreats… Right?

All kidding aside… keeping up with IT best practices is generally boring, complicated, and require investments (time and money). Unfortunately, “burying heads” in the preverbial sand won’t make cyberthreats go away, stop hackers, or showcase due diligence to insurance companies in how client data is being kept safe. Lack of strategic IT investments can lead to costly headaches, especially in the event a cyberattack (data breach, downtime, law suits, reputation damage, revenue loss, employee turnover, increased insurance costs, etc…). Yikes! 😮

The SBA says this…

“Cyberattacks cost the U.S. economy billions of dollars a year, and pose a threat for individuals and organizations. Small businesses are especially attractive targets because they have information that cybercriminals (bad actors, foreign governments, etc.) want, and they typically lack the security infrastructure of larger businesses to adequately protect their digital systems for storing, accessing, and disseminating data and information. Let’s Talk Risk Management 🔒

Let’s talk about EasyITGuys. Over the last 14 years, we’ve evolved with a centralized focus to better serve our loyal clients. We’ve built a comprehensive set of services designed to help protect home and business users from cybercrime. We’ve established strategic partnerships nationawide and attend regular cybersecurity compliance trainings. Each experience has been tested, researched, and tailored to meet the needs of specific client types. Our business experience started evolving in 2011 with companies ranging in size from 1 to 100+ employees across various industries (manufacturing, agriculture/farms, insurance, local government, law enforcement, retail, legal, construction, health/wellness, etc…). Admitantly, we have not done a good enough job managing our own risk serving hundreds of businesses as cyber threats increased dramatically. Our 2023 risk management strategy (per insurance and best practice requirements) is to have documented risk and expectation conversations with ALL of our clients by the end of 2023. This includes setting clear cybersecurity expectations based on guidelines from the SBA, FTC, NIST, Homeland Security, other cybersecurity authorities, and regulatory bodies. In summary, the risk was TOO HIGH (to not have this conversation) due to the nature of the cyberthreats and providing services to businesses of any size. Needless to say… we take our (and your) cybersecurity seriously!

GOOD NEWS! We are providing several incentives as well as educational “self service” documents to shed light on “what you should know”.

What’s NOT Changing?

  • VIP Perks: Businesses on the home experience will still get service center access (instore services). Services Included: Device diagnosis and recommend services for unlimited devices ($55 value), computer reset ($125 value), data transfers ($125 value), and hardware labor coverage ($100-$300 value).
  • VIP Discounts: As with all support plans, all labor is discounted 25% off.
  • Service Quality: Same great service you’ve grown to love and expect from us.
  • Service Speed: Scheduling for home users still has a 24 hour requirement. On-Demand and rush scheduling/support is available at an hourly rate upon request.
  • Service Rates: Same business support hourly rates that we’ve had for the past 12+ months.

What’s Changing?

  • Businesses on a home VIP experience will be auto-upgraded to the VIP Premium Home Support Plan (many of you may already have this level of service, no change for you. Thank you!).
    • Why? Businesses expect more… on any level of care. The VIP Home Premium includes 9AM start times, access/use to our Consultant support team, and the best cybersecurity available on the home experience. Most business clients on the home experience will have a $5 to $15/month change per computer ($50/month per PC is the standard cost for VIP Home Premium). This is a minimum level of care available to any business choosing a home support experience (with all VIP perks).
  • Home experience plans will not include “unlimited tech support” for businesses
    • Why? Business clients on the same support experience as a home user utilized our support on average 15X more frequently per year on the same cost. Understandably, this is not sustainable without losses to our quality of service. Support will be available at an hourly rate for businesses on a home support plan. This started earlier this year for new business clients. Legacy clients will have this active on 10/1/23. We’ve sent out notices on every email as well as the most recent recurring invoice.
  • Service Center team customization services are not included (instore software installs).
    • Why? Software customization services for business software has not been included for the last 12+ months. This is a reminder of this change.

What’s Next?

  1. Schedule your CyberSecurity Risk Assessment: Reply to this email to get scheduled. A consultant will work with you on the next steps. This is the first step to starting the business experience.
  2. If you choose to stay on a home experience and accept the risk of this choice, please click this link to agree to our risk acceptance notice –> Review Risk Acceptance Notice (no need to sign the notice, it’s a notice of expectations/level of care). Paying your next invoice with us states you accept our notice and terms of service (TOS). These are the same TOS as stated on every invoice. No further actions are required to continue your services with us as the risk is yours to manage. We are here to help you in whatever ways we can. Services with us will stay exactly as they are.
  3. Review Self Service Documentation Links above. Feel free to call us with questions too! A consultant will be happy to talk with you!
  4. Contact your Insurance agent on cybersecurity requirements for your business.
  5. Review your internal processes and employee policies to ensure you’ve limited your own liabilities from your employees enabling and furthering a cyberattack (have a conversation about email link “clicking” if you haven’t already, keep cybersecurity top of mind!).
