Personal Data Monitoring and Removal With Optery #

EasyITGuys includes Personal Data Monitoring with your membership to help you understand where your personal information may be publicly listed online. This benefit is provided through our trusted data privacy partner, Optery. Data brokers and people-search websites can collect and publish details such as your name, address, phone number, email address, past addresses, relatives, and more. That information can contribute to unwanted calls, spam, phishing attempts, marketing messages, scams, and privacy concerns.

Optery helps you identify that exposure, understand your options, and choose how much removal support you want.

Start Here: Activate Your Optery Account #

New members will receive an email invitation from Optery. Please activate your account promptly. Invitations expire after approximately 14 days. During setup, Optery may ask for personal details such as your name, current address, phone number, birth year, name variations, and prior addresses. This is normal and important. Optery uses this information to locate records that may belong to you. The more complete and accurate your profile is, the better Optery can identify your personal exposure online.

Members who provide complete profile information are often found on more than 150 public data exposures.

Tips for Better Results #

For the most complete results, add:

  • Your full legal name
  • Common name variations or prior names
  • Current address
  • Prior addresses
  • Phone numbers
  • Email addresses
  • Birth year or date of birth when requested

This information helps Optery separate your records from someone with a similar name and find more of your personal digital footprint.

Your Included Personal Data Monitoring Benefit #

Your EasyITGuys membership includes Personal Data Monitoring through Optery at no additional cost.

This benefit helps you see where your personal information may be publicly listed across people-search and data broker websites. Your Exposure Report can identify listings connected to your name, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, relatives, and other personal details.

You will receive visibility into your online exposure along with links and instructions to request removal from supported websites yourself.

For many members, this is the first time they can clearly see how much personal information is publicly available online.

This included benefit helps you:

  • Identify where your personal information may be listed
  • Understand which types of information are exposed
  • Review removal instructions at your own pace
  • Take practical steps to reduce information available to marketers, scammers, and data brokers

Important: Your included monitoring benefit provides visibility and self-service removal guidance. It does not include automated removal requests.

Want Optery to Handle More of the Work? #

Your included benefit helps you identify exposure and provides instructions so you can request removals yourself. Members who want less hands-on work can choose an optional paid Optery plan. Paid plans add ongoing scans, automated removal requests, broader coverage, and privacy-agent support for more difficult cases. More coverage means more removal work completed on your behalf.

It includes:

It includes:

  • Automated scans and removals across 555+ sites

When automated removals, Expanded Reach, and Custom Removal Requests are combined, Ultimate can support removal activity across Optery’s broader connected network of 1,350+ data brokers and people-search sites. Actual results vary by website, available information, and each broker’s response requirements.

The Simple Difference #

  1. Included Personal Data Monitoring: See where your information is exposed and use Optery’s guidance to request removals yourself.
  2. Optional Paid Removal Plans: Optery performs more of the monitoring, outreach, follow-up, and removal work for you.

For many members, the value is simple: less time spent tracking down data brokers and more confidence that personal information is being monitored over time.

Please note: no data-removal service can guarantee that every record will be removed from every website. Some sites may not honor requests, may be outside the supported network, or may republish information later.

What Is Expanded Reach? #

Expanded Reach is a free optional feature available with all paid Optery plans. It expands removal requests to additional data brokers that may not publicly show searchable profiles. These websites can be harder to verify because their information is often sold behind the scenes instead of appearing in normal search results. Expanded Reach can significantly increase the number of brokers where Optery submits removal requests.

To use Expanded Reach, Optery requires a signed Limited Power of Attorney because some data brokers require proof that Optery is authorized to act for you.

Limited Power of Attorney: What It Means #

Some data brokers refuse removal requests unless a person formally authorizes a privacy service to act on their behalf. Optery’s Limited Power of Attorney, often called an LPOA, allows you to designate Optery as your Authorized Agent for personal-data removal requests. This authorization is optional, but Optery strongly recommends it for paid removal plans because some resistant data brokers will not process removal requests without it.

The LPOA is limited to privacy-related actions, including:

  • Opt-out requests
  • Data deletion requests
  • Data privacy rights requests

It does not give Optery authority over your finances, medical care, legal matters, property, or other personal decisions. You can revoke the LPOA from your Optery dashboard at any time.

Blur Your House on Google Maps and Apple Maps #

Extended and Ultimate members may have access to Optery’s Map Blurring feature. This feature allows you to request that street-level images of your home be blurred on supported mapping services such as Google Maps and Apple Maps. Map Blurring can help reduce the ability for strangers to view your property layout, windows, entrances, vehicles, backyard, or other visible details online.

Important: Map Blurring is permanent once approved by the mapping provider. It cannot be reversed later.

Is Optery Legitimate? #

Yes. Optery is an official EasyITGuys privacy partner. It is designed to help individuals identify and reduce their exposure on data broker and people-search websites. Optery has been recognized by PCMag as an Editors’ Choice personal-data removal product for multiple years and was ranked highly in Consumer Reports testing. Optery also provides removal reports and, on applicable paid plans, before-and-after screenshots showing removal progress.

Important Expectations #

Personal data removal is not instant and is not permanent forever. Data brokers can refresh their databases, republish information, or obtain your information again from other sources. This is why ongoing monitoring and recurring removals can be valuable. Optery focuses on data brokers and people-search websites. It does not remove information from every type of website, such as social media, news articles, public records, blogs, discussion forums, or the dark web.
